Balance weights are widely used in washing machines, dryers and other equipment containing rotating or moving assemblies. Their purpose is to improve weight distribution, reduce vibration and support stable operation.
The required balance weight depends on the equipment structure, available installation space, operating speed and target mass. For this reason, many projects require a customized solution rather than a standard component.
Balance weights may be manufactured using pressed casting, filled molding or coated structures. The selected process depends on product geometry, density requirements, corrosion protection and installation conditions.
PVC-coated balance blocks provide an external protective layer that can improve handling and isolate the internal weight material from the surrounding environment. Pressed or cast balance weights may be more suitable when the application requires a compact metallic structure.
During development, the component shape, mounting holes, contact surfaces and target weight must be reviewed carefully. Stable internal density is important because weight variation can affect equipment balance.
Production control should therefore include weight verification, dimensional inspection and visual checks. Mounting features must also be consistent so the component can be installed securely during final assembly.
Custom tooling can be developed around the customer’s drawing or sample. Prototype production and assembly testing help confirm that the balance block fits the intended system before mass production begins.
